Hungary has a lot of exqusite and rather spicy food. I brought some examples here.
Goulash
Goulash is a soup or stew of meat and vegetables seasoned with paprika and other spices. Originating in Hungary, goulash is a common meal predominantly eaten in Central Europe but also in other parts of Europe. It is one of the national dishes of Hungary and a symbol of the country.
Paprikás
Paprikás is made from a variety of meat. Chicken, pork or calf could also make the base of this meaty stew. The basic stew is combined with tejföl and seasoned with paprika and that’s what makes it paprikás. Usually eaten with pasta or nokedli it’s one of Hungary’s favorite main dishes.
Tejföl & Túró
Tejföl is a dairy product made here in Hungary. Akin to sour cream it is a half solid cream with a sour taste. Tejföl is used for most of our national dishes and used to flavor our salty dishes.
Túró is unique to Hungary. You might find Tejföl in our neighbouring countries, you will only find túró here in Hungary. Túró is a solid dairy product use for everything. Combined with sugar, it can make a base for cakes and desserts. In itself it’s the main part of one of our national dishes called túrós tészta.
Túró rudi
Hungary’s favorite dessert. Made firstly in 1954 since it became a beloved dessert for children and adults.
