I brought some interesting traditions from Hungary.
Busójárás
Busójárás is a Hungarian carneval held before the Sunday of Farsang. It features men dressed in customs called Busó’s. They are men dressed in sheep hide trying to “scare” the winter away.
Kiszehajtás
Kiszehajtás is another tradition to chase away winter. Local folk make a puppet from hay and dress it up to be the Kisze. After that they parade the Kisze along the village and burn it in the end. This symbolises burning winter and welcoming spring.
