Visegrád

The city of Visegrád and it’s famous citadel has been a famous part of Hungary. Located on the right bank of the Danube in the Danube Bend it was commisioned by Béla the Fourth but it’s most well known for King Matthias.

Visegrád was the centerpiece of a monumental historical event called the Congress of Visegrád.
During this the Polish, Hungarian and Bohemian kings made a pact here about their heritage.

Later this agreement resulted in the Visegrád Group.

Budapest

The capital of Hungary. Budapest is a rather new city if looking from the angle of history as it was merged in 1873. Before it was three neighbouring cities of Buda, Pest and Óbuda.

Altought Budapest is rather new a city it’s foundation was estabilished in the Roman Era. This town’s name was Aquincum.

Buda and later Budapest is the site of a lot of famous buildings and a few famous historical events like the Siege of Budapest in WW2.
